MEMBERSHIP

  • The Delhi World Foundation has individual and institutional members drawn from all over India and abroad. All foreign nationals are eligible for admission as Life (Overseas) Members.
  • Criteria for membership, other than Institutional membership, is that applicant should be a ‘Dipsite’, a current or former student of a Delhi World Foundation School; a current or former Faculty/Staff (teaching/sports/clerical) of a Delhi World Foundation School; a Parent of a current or former Delhi World Foundation School student; a Trustee of a Trustee/Society running a Delhi World Foundation School; an Owner of a Delhi World Foundation School.
  • The fees and subscriptions payable by members in various categories are determined by the Board of Trustees of DWF Board from time to time and approved by the Senate.
  • The Board shall have the power to restrict the number of members of any or all classes of membership and may close the membership of DWF whenever the Board shall deem necessary.
  • Individual Membership application form will cost Rs. 100/- each. Institutional Membership application form will cost Rs. 500/- each.
  • The Individual Membership shall be cancelled if the annual subscription is not paid for two consecutive years. Institutional Membership shall be cancelled if the Institutional Member’s Trust/Society does not fulfill the criteria and standards set by the CHARTER of the Delhi World Foundation. Adequate warning will be given before cancellation.
Student Membership

Student members shall be those individuals who are either currently a student in any Foundation School, or any individual classified as a Student (studying for Bachelors Degree/Masters Degree/equivalent Degree/Diploma), at the discretion of the Foundation. Production of copy of Student I.D. Card would be necessary. Membership fees for Student Members shall be Rs. 200/- as Annual Fee or such other sum as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time.

Ordinary Membership

Ordinary Members shall be those Dipsites who apply to become Ordinary Members and pay Rs. 2,500/- as Admission Fee and an annual subscription of
Rs. 1,000/- or such other sum as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time.

Life Members

Life Members shall be those Dipsites who apply to become Life Members and pay
Rs. 10,000 , or such other sum as prescribed by the Board from time to time. Life Members shall thereafter continue to be a member without any payment of annual subscription.

Life Members (Overseas)

Overseas Members shall be those Dipsites who are foreign nationals who apply to become Life (Overseas) Members and pay the equivalent of $500 (Five hundred dollars), or such other sum as prescribed by the Board from time to time. A Life Member shall thereafter continue to be a member without any payment of annual subscription.

Institutional Members

Institutional members shall be those organizations (Corporate/Commercial/Academic/Universities/Statutory Bodies/Trusts/ Societies/Associations) who apply to become Institutional Members on such terms and conditions and by paying appropriate fee as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time.

Honorary Members

Honorary membership may be conferred by the Board on persons distinguished in public life or by service to the state or nation or who has contributed significantly to the progress of, and advancement of, the objects of the Foundation. Honorary members shall not be required to pay any Admission Fee or any annual subscription.

Patron Member

Patron membership shall be of those Dipsites who, at the invitation of the Board, contribute Rs. 1,00,000/- or more. Patron members do not need to pay any subscription thereafter.

  • All applicants for Membership shall be made by filing the appropriate prescribed form in original. Provisions shall also be made for e-application.
  • All applications for Student membership should be accompanied by proof of being a student (Student ID).
  • Applications shall be considered by the Membership Admission Committee appointed by the Board of Trustees of DWF. The Committee shall meet periodically to review applications for membership.
  • The applicant shall furnish such proof of eligibility for membership as may be required by the Board/Committee at its sole discretion.
  • The Committee shall recommend its decision to accept or reject the application to the Board of Trustees. Acceptance of Membership shall be at the sole discretion of the Board. The decision of the Board shall be final and binding.
  • When an application for membership has been accepted by the Board, the applicant will be so informed.
  • Upon payment of appropriate fee, the name of the members shall be entered into the Register of Members.
  • The applicant can avail of the facilities offered by the Foundation only after approval of his/her membership and making the necessary payments.
  • Fellowship of a global community, with shared interests that has – at some point in their lives – been touched by the Dipsite ethos.
  • Opportunity to foster relations, build networks, share information and serve the community.
  • Participate in/attend regular seminars, workshops, community and social events, and other programmes organized by the Foundation.
  • Access to a Directory of Dipsites maintained by the Foundation.
  • Access to interactive Website periodically updating activities of the Foundation: activities and achievements of affiliated schools; activities and achievements of Dipsites.
  • Access to a bank of Experts: retired teachers and Principals, including Sports professionals, willing to offer their services for setting up state-of-the-art facilities for new schools and upgrading existing facilities.
  • Access to a Scholarship programme for students of schools affiliated to the Foundation who have secured admission in top educational institutions in India and abroad but who suffer financial constraints.
  • Access to a Book Bank of old textbooks to be available to needy and financially constrained students.
  • Access to a Health Fund for needy students/teaching faculty of affiliated Foundation Schools.
  • Individual Life Membership can be transferred to the Spouse of the Member after his/her demise provided that such membership is sought by the spouse of the deceased member by filing appropriate prescribed form and paying a special fee equal to 25% of the full individual membership fee applicable at the time of applying for such transfer of membership.
  • Individual Ordinary membership can be transferred to Individual Life Membership provided that such membership is sought in writing and on payment of a special fee equal to 50% of the full Individual Life membership fee applicable at the time of applying for such transfer of membership.
  • Individual Members are allotted membership cards in their name after the approval of their Membership
  • Member’s spouse can also apply for an additional membership card by applying in the prescribed form and paying requisite nominal fee.
  • On approval of Institutional Membership, the Institution will be required to nominate two individuals from their organization in the prescribed form for issuing membership cards.
  • The two cardholders can avail of the services and facilities offered to Foundation members at regular member’s tariff.
  • The institutions may also recommend employees (other than card holders) or their guests/ clients to avail of the Foundation's services and facilities at Member tariff provided the bill is raised in name of respective institutional member.
  • The member/s are required to return their cards upon their retirement or leaving the organization or if their name is replaced by the institution. The institution, then or any other time at its discretion, may nominate fresh member/s in their place and also ask for fresh cards by paying a fee of Rs. 500/- + Service Tax, or such other sum as prescribed by the Board from time to time. Preferably the organization should submit a fresh list of cardholders every year at the time of renewal of their membership.

(This would, of course, be subject to meeting the most stringent conditions of excellence both in educational standards but also space and building requirements, as also extra curriculum facilities consistent with DWF Best Practices.)
